President’s Message April 2024

   President’s Message     APRIL 2024

April is upon us. The month of April gets its name from the Latin word aperire, meaning “to open [bud],” because plants really begin to grow with the sun and April showers.  April is known for beautiful Spring weather and nowhere is it nicer than our area of Vancouver Island, one of the mildest climates in Canada all year round.

This is my first message as the President of the Nanoose Bay Probus Club.  I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have devoted their time and energy over the previous year, on various committees and as members of our Management Team.  Further thanks to Esther Reed our new treasurer, Brian Freestone our new Vice President and Ethel Vincent- Lambert, Sunshine, who have volunteered to join the team for 2024-2025.

This year is well under way. Your Social Committee, Special Interest Groups, Speakers Committee, and others are busy planning events and activities.  I look forward to what the year ahead brings!  As new people move into our area, I encourage members  to invite their new neighbours as guests to a Probus meeting or special event.  Probus is a great way to meet and connect with interesting people from all over the world.  For further information check out the Newsletter and our website, www.nbprobus.org
