 Guest Speakers:
Barb Murray introduced and thanked our guest speakers today:  Tim Palmer, Gary Scarrow and Kathleen Tolley (with Emily) from the North Island Wildlife Recovery Association (NIWRA)

Tim Palmer and Gary Scarrow are volunteer tour guides at the centre – Tim is also the treasurer for NIWRA and Kathleen expertly handled Emily (a Saker Falcon). We were treated to a very interesting presentation about the NIWRA – it’s founding and founders – its present day facility and the work being done there. It is important to note the success they have had in rehabilitating and releasing some of the wildlife that have been under their care. Only the ones that could not survive on their own remain and serve an important educational function.  Wonderful pictures of the residents were shown. Kathleen introduced Emily – a Saker Falcon – and gave us an interesting  & informative talk about Falcons and Falconry. The 7 acre property in Errington is open to the public.
